Photography is about recording moments, moments that are unique and that will never be repeated in exactly the same way. In that sense, a photograph is like a thread, spun from the past to the present, a way to keep a memory alive and share it with others. During the last sixteen years of my photography career, I have had the pleasure of photographing many of these special moments for my clients and friends.

My style of photography is a natural one, with eye for detail and for the human interaction that makes life so precious. Therefore, it may come as no surprise that children and family portraits are my original line of work, the one where I am at my best and shine the most.
When photographing congresses or events, I do so with the same mindset; focusing on the human factor, on what makes the event special and stand out from the rest, with a little sense of humor thrown in for good measure.

Recent Blogposts

It started with a small Rollei camera bought with my pocket money when I was about ten years old.

Photography has been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. That first small Rollei camera? It was a completely manual camera which helped me greatly to learn the basics of photography. Not long after, my dad taught me how to make my own black & white prints.

My photography work took a professional turn in 2008, while I was living in Istanbul. As a Dutch person living in Turkey, together with my husband at the time and our young daughter, I was in the uniqe position to meet and photograph many families with young children from different backgrounds and nationalities.

The city, the Black Sea beach and the Bosphorus provided the backdrop for most of this work and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to learn and practice my profession under such amazing circumstances.

During those years, I also learned to photograph many other things, including congresses, events, businesses, venues, as well as some great children’s fashion photography, which I loved and some product photography which was definitely not my forte. However, as time went by, slowly but surely my work concentrated itself again in the area I know best and love most: people portraiture.

In 2017 we re-located to The Netherlands and once the dust of that big move and everything it entailed had settled, I continued my photography work here. The covid pandemic affected my work a lot, but it also gave me the opportunity to revise my photography work and expand in different directions. Nowadays I divide my time between portraiture work, photographing congresses & events, and some other things that have little to do with photography but everything with the human connection, namely my work as a conscious breathwork facilitator and a systemic work facilitator.
